Summary
DreamTap stores your dreams locally on your device. Voice recordings stay on your phone for playback. When you use AI features, your dream text is sent to OpenAI (USA) for processing. We collect minimal anonymous analytics. You can delete everything with one tap.

We are the data controller responsible for your personal data processed through DreamTap.
2. Age Requirement
DreamTap is intended for users 16 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this app. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
3. What We Collect & Why
Voice Recordings
Your recordings are stored locally on your device so you can listen back anytime. For transcription, audio is sent to OpenAI for processing—we do not store your voice on our servers.

Dream Transcripts & Content
Your transcribed dreams are stored locally on your device. They are sent to OpenAI when you request AI features (art, insights, analysis).

Purchase Information
DreamTap+ subscriptions and credit purchases are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of purchases but do not have access to your payment details.

Analytics
We use Apple's built-in App Analytics to understand how the app is used (screens viewed, feature usage, crash reports). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

4. Sensitive Content in Dreams
Dreams may contain sensitive information (health, beliefs, personal experiences). By using DreamTap's AI features, you explicitly consent to the processing of your dream content, including any sensitive information it may contain, for the purpose of generating art and insights. This content is sent to OpenAI for processing and is not stored on our servers.
5. Who Processes Your Data
OpenAI (Processor)
Provides transcription, art generation, and AI insights. Located in the USA. Data is processed under their API terms and is not used for training. Retention is minimized per OpenAI's data processing policies.

When you use AI features, your dream content is transferred to OpenAI's servers in the United States. This transfer is protected by:
- • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- • OpenAI's data processing agreement and security measures

7. What We Don't Do

- ✓We never use your dreams to train AI models (OpenAI API is configured to not use data for training)

8. Data Retention
Local data (dreams, recordings): Stored until you delete them
OpenAI processing: Not used for training; minimal retention per their terms
Purchase records: Retained by Apple per their policies
Analytics: Aggregated data retained by Apple for up to 2 years
9. Security Measures

- • All network transfers use TLS/HTTPS encryption
- • No server-side storage of your dreams or recordings
- • API keys secured and never exposed to users
10. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
Access: Request a copy of your data
Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
Erasure: Delete all your data (one tap in Settings)
Restriction: Limit how we process your data
Portability: Export your dreams in a portable format
Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest
Withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent for AI processing at any time by not using those features
Because your dreams are stored locally on your device and we do not maintain user accounts, we cannot retrieve your data on your behalf. Please use the in-app export and delete features to exercise your rights, or contact us at Hello@DreamTap.app for assistance.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top and notify you through the app. For material changes affecting your rights, we will ask for your consent where required.
